The city is located on the Baltic coast in north-eastern Germany, and has a really interesting maritime history and a vibrant present. As the biggest city in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, it is a big deal in the Baltic Sea region. Rostock is home to around 210,000 people and has a great mix of historical landmarks and modern attractions.<\/p><p>The city&#8217;s old town is well worth a visit. Old town has some great Gothic churches, like St Mary&#8217;s, and a very busy harbour. Rostock is a big port city, both for industry and tourism. Today in the harbour we&#8217;ve got ferries, cargo ships and cruise liners, as well as other merchant and passenger vessels.<\/p><p>Rostock&#8217;s history as a Hanseatic League city makes for great historical intrigue, and the annual Hanse Sail festival draws crowds eager to see a spectacular gathering of traditional sailing ships. People need to know about their self-help responsibilities and the services offered by disaster response authorities in crises situations. To achieve this goal, we need a long-term strategy for communicating in different ways, using both traditional and digital media.<\/p><p>The German nationwide warning day is a great example of a project like this in civil protection. This regular event uses a mix of old-school and digital PR tactics to keep residents in the loop.<\/p><p>The closing project event, called &#8222;Resilient Citizen&#8220; will take place from 10 to 12 September 2025 in Rostock.
